Eduard Nogay inspired me to do better ! #notimeoff

Eduard Nogay, volleyball star at Fort Hamilton High School, passed away this morning following his battle with cancer.

News 12 Overtime featured Nogay last month. Nogay had his arm was amputated, yet still competed this season for his high school team. As the season went on, the cancer worsened and spread to his lungs.

He died a few minutes after midnight, a day after his 18th birthday.

Volleyball helped motivate Nogay as he battled a rare disease known as Epitheloid Sarcoma. He played while going through chemotherapy treatments and with a collapsed lung.

The team reached the semifinals

Family, friends and teammates were with him at Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center when he passed.

SN.(side note) He said he wanted to make it to his 18th birthday .. And he did ! May he rest in paradise ! It's kind of sad how most of us young men and women have excuses for why we can't do things to our full advantage and why we put things off but here was a young male battling cancer that was told he would die . And stayed on top of his grades and continued to play his favorite sport ... Truly an inspiration ❤
